Are European SMEs Ready for the Green Transition? Insights from the CREDIT Research Report
Insights & Resources
The CREDIT project has published its research report exploring how organisations across Europe perceive and approach the green transition.
Based on survey data from Greece, Italy, and Turkey, the report analyses:
existing green practices,
organisational barriers and resources,
perceived importance and readiness to act, and
training needs related to the green and circular economy.
The findings reveal that while motivation to become greener is high, readiness varies across sectors and countries. Importantly, the research shows that hands-on engagement in green practices is the strongest driver of both motivation and readiness, more than resources or the absence of barriers alone.
These insights directly inform the design of the CREDIT training toolkit, which aims to support businesses, educators, and organisations through practical, action-oriented learning approaches.
